The recently launched Galaxy Z Flip series came out to be a trendsetter in some aspects, and a lesson in others.

From among the two remarks, only the former one was in the lead until a few days back, with the latter one not in even sight, but a recently conducted durability test brought to light some troublesome aspects of Samsung's top-of-the-line flagship foldable.

Citing a prominent YouTuber, 9to5Google reported that the Z Fold 6 was made to suffer severe durability tests to determine how much could they bear.

Although the Z Fold 6 carries the best Samsung hardware to date under the hood, it lags what rival manufacturers have in the books.

During the test, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was inflicted with fire, a heap of dust thrown into the hinge and display, and wild scratching and bending.

With the IP48 resistance rating, the device held up well for the most part involving solid and liquid afflictions. However, getting impacted with dust showed the "4" there in IP48 does deserve the spot.

The foldable handset let more dust into the hinge than the previous iteration of the phone, leading to some inaudible and disturbing sound emitting from the hinge.

The foldable didn't catch the fire because it was being subjected to a greater degree of torture greater than its durability, but rather because it was being torn apart, with the layers of the display pulled out one after the other.

This is said to do nothing with the battery, but rather a damaged ribbon cable which was damaged during the teardown process.
