Google Chrome, one of the most famous and commonly used web browsers globally, has been gearing up to launch a new 'Drag to Search.' However, this feature is currently under development by the name of "Circle to Search," which enables users to search for anything just by dragging their cursor over it on their computer screen.

How Does 'Drag to Search' work

It uses Google Lens to identify and look up selected text or images. Interestingly, this new feature has been rolled out to Chrome 128 beta and ChromeOS 127 beta versions. Gadinsider has got you a step-by-step guide.

  1. Users can use the feature just by clicking the Google Lens icon that pops up in the address bar or find it under "Search with Google Lens" in the overflow menu.
  2. Select the text or image you want to search for by dragging your cursor over it.
  3. Google Lens technology identifies the selected text or image and searches for relevant information.
  4. The search results will appear in a side panel, keeping the original tab open for continued browsing.

Moreover, 'Drag to Search' can be pinned to the side panel for easy access. On Google, it replaces the "Search with Google" option to make searching very easy and time-saving.
