The new update will allow Chrome users to continue playback when switching to different apps or even when the phone’s screen is locked.
It will also allow users to choose from 10 different languages. With a media player appearing in the notification panel, it will offer basic controls to users. The media player will also highlight articles’ headlines and websites.
Moreover, within the feature, users can select playback speed from 0.5x to 4x and can also enable “Highlight text & auto scroll.”
Once rolled out, the feature will be accessible from Google Chrome’s three-dot menu, with users being able to add a shortcut next to the address bar.
