Google Contacts, a crucial app in the Google's ecosystem, is getting a significant update. The app would soon allow all its users to access the app without a Google account, making it more convenient for those who want to manage their contacts without syncing with Google.

What’s new?

A new option in the account switcher menu has been added to let users use Google Contacts if they don't have a Google account. Currently, the feature is hidden, and when it would be enabled, the app will explain what it means to use an app without an account after redirection to the 'Organise' tab.

These changes involve the toggling off of Google Contacts sync and the deletion of imported contacts from your Google account.

However, it is important to note that turning off the Google Contacts sync would remove imported contacts from your Google account. Most interestingly, these contacts would be stored in your Google account and can be accessed again by turning on Google Contacts sync.

More updates

Currently, turning off Google Contacts sync is a complex process. The users need to access Contacts settings, select the desired Google account, and toggle off the Google Contacts sync switch. The new update simplifies this process, managing contacts easier for users.

Google Contacts is also refining the Individual contact pages with a three-dot menu. This upgrade would help the user to reduce clutter and make it easier to access essential features of the app.
