Another step closer to preventing the loss of their devices and being able to trace them if lost, Google has released an update to its Find My Device app, allowing users to view the real-time locations of anyone whose location is shared with them.
The new Find My Device update is a developed version of the one brought about under Android's March feature drop.
The fruitful facility of tracking down people in real time is gradually being rolled out by Google to a wider audience, 9to5Google reported.
The Find My Device app previously offered location sharing only with friends and family, but as of now, Find My Device users can now rejoice a fusion of device and people tracking at the same time.
The biggest aspect of people tracking on Find My Device is that it also displays the locations of friends using Google Maps on iOS.
The People tracking feature in Find My Device can be accessed from a new “People” tab in the app, and once tapped, it shows the locations of contacts whose locations are shared with you.
A separate tab has also been added to highlight the contacts with whom users have shared their location. The tab also offers the flexibility to change how long one can continue to have their location.
