Google Maps expands report incident feature to Android Automotive

Users can access report incidents feature in Android Automotive just by selecting triangular yellow hazard symbol

The past few weeks ago, an Android Auto user spotted the reporting incident feature in Google Maps but now the feature has begun to introduce all across the United States (US) to Android Auto. Now It seems like the reporting incident feature is rolling out in-ca4r operating systems (OS) too.

However, Google Maps was already capable of reporting incident such as lane closures, crashes, and more, but it was previously only available in smartphones. Then, it hit Apple's CarPlay in-car system back in July, but extended its disappearance from Android Auto and Automotive. Last week, an reporting incident feature was finally introduced on Android Auto.

A report from 9to5Google suggested that ahead of the launch of incident reports in Android Auto, set off it’s launch in Android Automotive. Furthermore, the outlet reported that they received the feature on their Polstar 2.

Users would be able to access the feature in Android Automotive just by selecting the triangular yellow hazard symbol. Once you click it, an “Add a report” menu would appear, that lets you choose the accurate incident to report, but it seems that users would only be able to submit a single report per road instead of reporting multiple reports.
