Google is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into one of its Workspace apps, Google Meet, with a significant update to its "Take notes for me" feature.
Originally introduced in 2024, the Take notes for me feature automatically captures key discussion points during meetings and sends a recap email to participants.
New feature in Google Meet
Now, the updated “next steps” feature uses Google's AI to identify critical follow-up tasks and suggest the next steps after a meeting.
These tasks are organised in a new section, allowing Google Meet users to assign action items, update deadlines, and refine the AI-captured information for accuracy.
Building on the existing convenience of the "Take notes for me" feature, this enhancement aims to streamline workplace collaboration.
The updated feature will be available to Google Workspace users with Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus plans, and also to those using the Gemini Education Premium add-on.

It should be noted that the rollout of this feature began earlier this week but according to Google, the implementation is at a slower pace to ensure optimal performance and quality.
