Google is working on a search UI update for Google Messages, bringing small but useful design improvements. The app already allows users to search for texts using filters, but the latest beta version introduces a cleaner and more modern look.

Google's new Messages search interface is more space-efficient and easier to read. The change most apparent to users is the new search filter page, in which filter buttons are larger and appear in two rows.
This facilitates searching messages by contacts, photos, or links. A further adjustment is the card form of individual results, which appear neater in design.
In addition, the link search page now incorporates rounded bubbles instead of the square boxes present in the latest version. The search bar is also of a different colour to differentiate it from the rest.
These Google Messages search UI updates are minor, but they do contribute to making the app look more contemporary. The enhanced search filter page enables users to easily browse through their texts, and message retrieval becomes more streamlined.
Moreover, Google has been busy adding new features to its Messages app. The company recently added the feature to send RCS messages to yourself, which can help save important reminders or notes.
Another feature in the works is deleting RCS messages for all users, a much-called-for feature like WhatsApp's own "Delete for Everyone" feature.

While the new search redesign is still in beta, it may roll out widely in a future update, giving all users access to the improved search features.
