If you are encountering issues while activating your new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold on AT&T’s network, you’re not the only one as many new Pixel buyers have reported a similar issue of not being able to use 5G on AT&T network.
5G connectivity issues on Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Google unveiled the Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphone a few weeks back, making it available at the Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy, and at major US carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon. However, AT&T did not offer the foldable phone on its website, despite still selling the original Pixel Fold.
Therefore, several Pixel 9 Pro Fold users started to buy unlocked devices to use with their AT&T SIM cards and are now experiencing issues with the 5G network.

Notably, these issues came soon after reports of Bluetooth issues affecting the Pixel 9 series started circulating.
The issue was first highlighted by Android Authority, revealing that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is limiting users to LTE, despite the Pixel 9 Pro Fold supporting AT&T's n260, n5, and n77 5G frequency bands.
The report also revealed that many users have contacted AT&T regarding the issue and have been advised to wait for 72 hours after inserting their SIM into a new device.
The report also suggested that some users started inserting the AT&T SIM into a different phone and then re-inserting it in the Pixel 9 Pro and it seems to fix the issue.
However, other users have discredited the fix, saying that it only temporarily gives access to 5G, before reverting to LTE or 5Ge.
It appears that this issue is something that AT&T and Google might need to resolve together while there is a possibility that the problem could be only on AT&T’s end.
