
Yesterday was World Emoji Day. Emojis have become a rather quirky part of our communication, and they offer a great way to say something without actually saying something and help make a regular interaction over text, more human.
It’s always great to have a new selection of emojis on the way and Google’s doing just that, it has revealed details regarding the new kind it has in store for users.

Google said that a new one will be rolling out to users sometime in the next few weeks, all focused on the mash-up possibilities of Emoji Kitchen.
As the filter cycles through a couple of emoji options, they’ll tilt their head to choose the ones they want to combine.
There’s also been news of additions to Android, Unicode 16.0 is adding seven new emojis: a fingerprint, a leafless tree, a harp, a splat graphic, a face with bags under its eyes, a shovel, and a root vegetable.
Google's looking to add them to its Noto web fonts in September, bring them to Android phones by March 2025, and spread them across the rest of Google’s ecosystem during the early parts of next year.
