Google One, a subscription providing storage for various Google apps, is set to introduce its cheaper version.

According to Android Authority, Google is working on a new "Google One Lite plan" alongside existing Google One tiers, including Premium AI and Premium plans that cost $20, and $2 per month respectively.

The publication also reported that the Lite plan could focus on Google's photo backup solution.

Moreover, it might drop the additional 100GB of storage and family-sharing features, offering full access to all Google Photos features at a reduced price.

Currently, the cheapest Google One tier provides access to all Google Photos editing features. However, in future, Google might also provide access to Gemini inside Google Photos once the Ask Photos feature rolls out.

The company is also going to disclose its Google One Lite plan alongside the Pixel 9 series in August.

Google One’s previous updates

Recently, Google One shut down the One VPN service that was available with the 2TB+ and higher storage plans.

Additionally, it announced that dark web monitoring would be available to all Google account holders. Previously, it was exclusive to Google One subscribers.

Moreover, recently emerged reports claim that Google is working on an "all-in-one" bundle that would include Nest Aware access.
