Google is reportedly working on a new “Quick View” feature that allows users to have a full view of recipes directly on search results.

Citing sources, Search Engine Roundtable reported that the feature aims to change the way how users interact with recipes in search results.

“We’re always experimenting with different ways to connect our users with high-quality and helpful information. We have partnered with a limited number of creators to begin to explore new recipe experiences on Search that are both helpful for users and drive value to the web ecosystem, stated Google’s spokesperson.

It appears that some users are seeing this new “Quick View” button on recipe thumbnail images when searching for recipes.

By clicking this button, users can directly access the complete recipe, including ingredients, a step-by-step guide, and related photos right there in the Search app. This works without bringing the user to the website.

The feature is currently in the testing phase and Google is yet to confirm when it will be widely rolling out to the public.

However, it’s unclear whether the Google Search Quick View feature pulls recipe instructions and ingredients, or if it is a result of the company’s recent initiative i.e. Google AI-powered overviews.
