Alphabet-owned Google is developing a new feature that automatically opens newly downloaded apps from the Play Store. This information comes from an APK teardown of version 41.4.19 of the Google Play Store by a news publication.

The teardown revealed in-progress code hinting at potential future features, though there is no guarantee that this update will be implemented.

As part of the feature, a notification will pop up when App Auto Open activates, ringing or vibrating users' devices based on their settings. The feature can be toggled on or off but appears to be enabled by default.

Google has yet to officially roll out this feature across devices running Android 15. Additionally, the system will send users a reminder 24 hours after downloading an app if it remains unopened.

These features aim to ensure users don't forget to open newly downloaded apps. They could also be integrated with the recently introduced feature that allows for multiple downloads.
