Google has a couple of accessibility updates and features, including an upgrade to the Magnifier app that happened at the Made by Google event commenced and concluded on Tuesday at Mountain View headquarters in California.

It was introduced last year, as now Magnifier (Pixel 5+) allows you to select between the macro and wide-angle lenses.

A larger Magnifier integration allows you to search for particular words in a scene, like “if you’re searching for your flight’s departure time at the airport or trying to find a vegetarian dish on a menu.” Tap “Find” at the bottom of the viewfinder.

Picture-in-picture will allow you to “view both the bigger context of what you’re looking at along with the information on your screen.”

Lastly, Selfie Illumination with the selfie camera turns Magnifier into an impromptu mirror. Live Transcribe is ready to receive a dual-screen mode on foldables. When the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is in tabletop mode, everyone can view transcriptions.

On the other hand, on-device Live Transcribe is arriving in seven more languages. Just install the language pack.

Live Caption is integrating support for Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Turkish, and Vietnamese languages for users.

Guided Frame can now be turned on quickly within Pixel Camera settings without the need for the TalkBack screen reader. It helps those with blindness or low vision click pictures by stating where to point.

Additionally, Google confirmed that the feature has received “enhanced object recognition, intelligent face filtering in group photos, and better focus on subjects even in complex scenes.” It will also announce when “lighting is low.”
