
At the beginning of 2024, the Google Wallet received a significant update to directly share purchase notifications and currently, it has just upgraded sporting a new icon.
Currently, the company is said to be using a new wallet icon for “Purchases” instead of the Alphabet-owned Google’s “G” logo, it’s reminiscent of the simplified variant used by Google Wallet’s Quick Settings Tile, lock screen shortcut, and themed icon and the status bar icon has been shifted to the smaller side.

Earlier, the notification icon was a holdover from when Google Pay notifications were managed by Google Play services to enhance user experience. It was pretty basic but captivating enough to push over any individual to check if it was an extremely serious Google Account alert.
