Google has collaborated with the Mio, an app that bridges cross-platform communication with other platforms, to enable the interoperability between Google Chat, Microsoft Teams Slack, Webex, Zoom Team Chat and others. This messaging platform feature was announced last year at the Google Cloud Next 2023 event but was available in beta for a limited number of users.
With this new update, all paid Google Workspace subscribers will be able to send messages to Teams and Slack users, enabling Workspace users to stay on Google Chats while allowing users to use Direct Messages, Spaces, and Group Chats.
The feature was announced as an update by Google Workspace, to provide users with a more seamless experience. This update will be useful for coworkers in multiple teams who use a separate app for communication that will enable users to send messages only to people in their organisation.

However, there is one drawback of this feature. This cross-platform messaging feature is not built into Google Chat, in order to create interoperability the users have to download and install the Mio app. The trickiest part will be that the organisation will have to buy an additional license to use this feature.
Earlier, Slack released its artificial intelligence (AI) features globally to users with a paid subscription giving them access to enhanced features such as recaps, search, and conversation summaries.
