In a bid to modernise the hiring process of the public sector, the federal government has initiated a review of digital tools and apps used by ministries and government departments for recruitment.

The goal of the recruitment apps' review is to streamline and normalise IT-based hiring processes across ministries.

In this regard, the Establishment Division has directed all federal ministries, attached departments, and subordinate offices to submit data on the recruitment software they use.

The development is aimed at assessing how effectively these tools handle large volumes of job applications and make the hiring process fair and transparent.

“This is part of wider reforms for digital transformation in government recruitment,” ProPakistani quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying. “Many departments use different systems, and the government is exploring the potential for a centralised platform.”

Top ministries that have been asked to comply include Finance, Interior, Defence, IT & Telecom, Education, Health, and Climate Change.

The data, once collected, will help identify gaps and may lead to unified digital hiring guidelines or a standard platform for all federal departments.

Upon successful execution, the system is expected to serve as a model for provincial governments and other public bodies.
