One of the significant health features launched in iOS 17 for iPhone and iPad whose goal is to combat eye strain for users and reduce the risk of myopia, especially in children.
Apple emphasises the importance of maintaining a minimum distance of 12 inches between the eyes and the device screen. Moreover, it is common to develop the habit of using devices closer to the eyes than recommended.
To address this, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 developed a convenient new feature called Screen Distance. This feature assists users in establishing the healthy habit of maintaining an appropriate distance when using their iPhones and iPads. This helps minimise the risk of myopia for children, while it helps alleviate and prevent eye strain for all users.
