Users can restore iCloud messages on their iPhones through the Messages app. With Messages in iCloud, any messages that are deleted and retrieved on the iPhone will also be deleted and recovered on other Apple devices where Messages in iCloud are turned on.
Deleting and recovering messages only affects the conversations within the Messages app and does not alter the recipients of those messages. Within a time frame of 30 days, users have the choice to restore iCloud messages. To restore iCloud messages, below are the steps provided that a user can follow.
Steps To restore iCloud messages
1. Two options are available in the Messages conversation list.
- In the top-left corner tap "Edit", then select "Show Recently Deleted."
- The second option is to tap "Filters" in the top-left corner, then choose "Recently Deleted."
2. Tap “Recover” after selecting the conversations containing the messages the user wants to restore.
3. To start the restoration process, tap "Recover Messages.”
Note: It is important to know that any messages deleted from a conversation using the "Undo Send" feature will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
