Pixel Watch 3’s Watch Unlock feature
Pixel Watch 3’s Watch Unlock feature works with all three generations of Pixel Watch and a Pixel 4a or any new Pixel phone with Android 13 or newer installed.
To unlock the Pixel smartphone with Pixel Watch 3’s UWB, both the watch and phone must have a PIN or pattern setup and be paired together using Bluetooth. The watch must also be positioned correctly on your wrist.
Set up UWB Watch Unlock on Google Pixel Watch
- Firstly, launch the Google Pixel Watch app on the phone.
- Now, scroll down and select “Watch preferences.”
- Then, select “Security.”
- Select “Watch Unlock.”
- Now, enter your phone's PIN and the follow on-screen instructions to set it up.
- Afterwards, select the option to use UWB.
Set up Watch Unlock in settings app
You can also set up Watch Unlock through your phone's Settings app instead of the Pixel Watch app.
- Launch the Settings app on the phone.
- Now, tap the “Security & Privacy” option.
- Select Device Unlock.
- Click on Fingerprint & Face Unlock and enter your phone's PIN.
- Then, select Watch Unlock from the list.
By using the Watch Unlock feature you can easily unlock your phone instead of typing a PIN or drawing a pattern. The UWB chip in the Pixel Watch 3 makes this feature more accurate and useful.
