With this update, when users see a post or story with a song on Instagram, they can simply tap on it to not only view more information but also add it to their Spotify playlist without leaving the app.
A new “Add to Spotify” button appears next to the music player for listening to a preview of the song on Instagram. However, to get hands on this new feature, users are required to link their Spotify account to Instagram.
Once linked, songs added from Instagram will appear in the “Liked Songs” playlist and also in the “Your Library” tab on Spotify.
The update also reflects a growing trend of social media platforms partnering with music streaming services to enhance music discovery and sharing. Earlier, TikTok also introduced a similar feature that works with Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
The feature is now being rolled out globally. To ensure widespread availability, this new feature is available for both Android and iOS users.
