
Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram developed a new feature “Limits,” a secured control you can use to protect direct messages (DMs) and comments from accounts that may harm you.
However, rather than hiding content from current followers or people who don’t follow you. Instagram will silent notifications of messages from everyone except the users on your close friend's list.
Initially, Instagram unveiled restrictions to help creators deal with harassment campaigns, the users can utilise the feature if they’re facing unnecessary messages and comments from harassers. It could provide a route to mute incoming noise without detaching people from a corroborative community.

Instagram allows you to restrict accounts for up to four weeks. However, you can increase it. You can allow restriction by clicking on the profile, choosing the hamburger menu in the top-right corner of the screen, and selecting limited interactions.
Moreover, Instagram has created its limit feature, which allows you to prevent a user from tagging you in their stories or any comments. These extended features come as Instagram faces strict monitoring from the US government over the protection of its young users.
Previously, Meta launched a new feature that limits adults from messaging minors on Instagram and Facebook by default. The firm also transferred to cover suicide and eating disorder content from youngsters on both platforms.
