Regret often catches us off guard when a crispy piece of content appears on our Instagram feed, and the app somehow refreshes itself in an unruly manner. But that has become a thing of the past as a new feature lets us see our watched Instagram Reels through a new Watch History tab.

What is Instagram's new Watch History feature

Announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri, Instagram's new Watch History feature allows users to revisit previously watched Reels.

This app has set aside a common frustration: losing interesting videos after interruptions, such as phone calls or sudden app closures.

How to access Watch History on Instagram?

To access your Watch History, users just need to navigate to their profile, go to “Settings,” and find it under “Your Activity.” Right here they can view every Reel they watched.

The good part is that the feature also offers sorting options by date, including the past week or month, and even specific date ranges. If need be, users can also remove Reels from their watch history.

By allowing sorting in chronological or reverse chronological order, or by author, the new Instagram Reels feature provides more flexibility compared to TikTok’s version.

It is said to have been developed in response to user demand, making the process of recovering lost videos easier, which previously required hectic workarounds like downloading data from the app.

Likely mirroring TikTok, Instagram has been enhancing Reels with features, including the ability to connect multiple Reels in a series and support for Picture-in-Picture viewing.
