In a major leak, tipster Majin Bu revealed a picture of the iPhone 17 Pro's battery prototype, giving users a sneak peek at the internal architecture of the device.
It looks like the leaked image depicts a steel-encased battery, a design feature that might improve the device's functionality and user experience.
The leaked material claims that the battery of the device will have an L-shaped steel enclosure, a design element that should improve heat dissipation and give the phone's chassis more structural strength.
Interestingly, it is said that the steel casing can be combined with other useful parts, such as Apple's exclusive MagSafe charging coil.
Additionally, the design of the battery is said to differ slightly depending on the market.
The US version is anticipated to have a wider battery, in line with the device's e-SIM-only configuration, while the Chinese version has a narrower battery with a longer L-shaped cutout to accommodate the physical SIM tray slot.
