In the wake of the ongoing flood situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan’s leading digital operator Jazz has announced free on-net and PTCL calls for all subscribers in flood-affected areas across the province.

Jazz's free calls in flood-hit KP have been introduced to enable residents to stay connected with family, emergency responders, and relief agencies.

As noted by ProPakistani, KP's prominent districts such as Buner, Swat, Shangla, Dir, and Chitral were severely impacted by the recent heavy rains and flash floods, causing extensive damage to roads, homes, and vital infrastructure.

“Our hearts are with everyone affected by the floods. Connectivity is a lifeline in times of crisis, and Jazz is committed to ensuring families and responders can stay connected when they need it most,” stated Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim.

The government of Pakistan has introduced the nationwide 911 unified emergency helpline (PEHL), providing citizens with free access to emergency services across the country.

Earlier this year, Jazz collaborated with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to launch a mobile-enabled Early Warning System (EWS).

The recent floods have highlighted the need for such technology-driven measures, which, coupled with emergency connectivity support, are crucial to protect lives and livelihoods.

That said, Jazz seems committed to utilising its extensive infrastructure to support Pakistan during natural disasters to provide immediate assistance.
