To increase its user base, Lenovo has announced to expand its cutting-edge Smart Connect app to support all Android devices, including smartphones and tablets.

The company has also introduced significant updates to the Smart Connect feature, which enables seamless integration between Windows PCs and Android devices.

What is Smart Connect app?

Available via Google Play Store, Smart Connect already offers several innovative features, including the ability to start a phone's hotspot from a laptop and run mobile apps on other devices.

A convenient swipe gesture also allows users to transfer apps between devices, even when the original device is not in the foreground.

What’s new in Smart Connect app?

One of the key new features is an AI-powered search function that allows users to find files, photos, and more across all their devices from any device, eliminating the need to remember which device a file was downloaded on, as Smart Connect can locate it.

The app has also gained natural language search and commands, allowing users to perform functions without navigating through settings.

While the expansion of Smart Connect to all Android devices is a significant development, some features, such as app mirroring and AI search, will remain exclusive to Motorola and Lenovo devices.

Additionally, Smart Connect is adding support for IoT devices, including the Moto Tag and Motorola-branded smartwatches.
