Lunar eclipse today: Here's when and how to watch

As the first lunar eclipse of 2025 is set to drape over most parts of the sky globally, skygazers are gearing up to catch the finest of the glimpse of tonight's total lunar eclipse. 

Also called a "Blood Moon", the lunar eclipse 2025 is expected to illuminate red light through night skies around the world today on March 14. 

Where and how to watch lunar eclipse 2025 tonight

If you happen to be enthusiastic to know from where tonight's rare Blood Moon, or lunar eclipse, will offer the best glimpse, then bear in mind that anyone being at the night side of Earth will be able to watch lunar eclipse tonight.

The Americas, Pacific and Atlantic oceans as well as the westernmost parts of Europe and Africa, are among the luckiest regions during moon eclipse 2025.

When to watch tonight's total lunar eclipse 

According to NASA, tonight's lunar eclipse will come into action at 1:09am Eastern Time in North America, with its totality estimated to run from 2:26am to 3:31am.

Whereas in France, the window of the lunar eclipse 2025's totality will remain open from 7:26am to 8:31am local time, according to the French Institute of Celestial Mechanics and Ephemeris Calculation.

Daniel Brown, an astronomer from the UK's Nottingham Trent University, claimed that tonight's lunar eclipse will last around six hours on Friday morning. He noted it "is an amazing way to see the solar system in action."
