Apple’s recent revelation at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, macOS Sequoia, has arrived with a plethora of compelling features, including iPhone mirroring, the new Passwords app, and more.
One of its latest significant upgrades is the streamlined download process from the Mac App Store, which now allows users to manage free storage requirements more efficiently when installing apps, including games of any size. This feature aims to enhance the efficiency of app downloads.
Previously, users downloading an app from the App Store needed twice as much free space on their storage as the app's size. For instance, a 2GB app required 4GB of free space on the computer to download. This requirement has now been resolved by macOS Sequoia, streamlining downloads from the Mac App Store.
The Cupertino-based tech giant further noted, "The App Store no longer requires twice the space free for initial app download and installation. The free space requirement will now match the final install size of the app, plus a small buffer. Developers should consider this change in their messaging regarding size requirements."
Additionally, macOS 15 is undergoing significant changes with the launch of Apple Intelligence. This new AI technology will enable users to perform various daily tasks, such as writing emails, taking notes, generating images, and more seamlessly.
