Maruti Suzuki's new Dzire sedan is redefining safety for affordable cars, especially in price-conscious markets like India. Known for budget-friendly cars, Maruti Suzuki’s latest Dzire proves that an affordable car can also be safe, tech-friendly, and comfortable.

Starting at $8,000, the 4th-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire stands out with a five-star Global NCAP crash test rating, a rare achievement in budget models.

The Dzire is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), hill hold assist, and pedestrian protection. Maruti Suzuki took the step to submit its car for crash testing, demonstrating confidence in its safety standards.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire features

The Dzire runs on a 1.2-litre engine producing 80 hp and 113 Nm of torque, with a more fuel-efficient CNG version offering 69 hp and 102 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or automated manual transmission, focusing on fuel efficiency rather than speed.

Compact at 157.2 inches in length, the Dzire offers 382 litres of trunk space, ample for family outings. Its lightweight frame, weighing around 920 kg, enhances both efficiency and handling.

Higher trims of the Dzire offer comfort and tech that are often seen in high-end models. Features include a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, rear air vents, a wireless charger, an electric sunroof, and a 9-inch touchscreen compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Since its debut in 2008, the Dzire has sold over 2.7 million units in India alone. With plans to introduce this affordable and safe car to regions like Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and ASEAN, Maruti Suzuki aims to reach new markets with a balance of safety, technology, and value.
