The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and the Sindh government on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS) mobile app for municipal services aimed at providing convenience to citizens.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah stated: "CRMS mobile app will enable timely and easy registration of birth, death, marriage, and divorce, as the launch of the app is an important milestone in the journey of modernising civic services.

"I am grateful to Chairman NADRA, Chief Secretary, Secretary Local Government and all partners. Sindh is rapidly moving from a paper-based system to smart, technology-based governance, as digital services are essential for transparency, efficiency, accessibility and public trust," added the chief minister.

What services will CRMS mobile app provide?

The CRMS mobile app will significantly improve the birth, death, marriage and divorce registration system. Birth registration will enable access to basic facilities such as identification, education, vaccination and social protection.

According to the chief minister, accurate death data is extremely important for population, planning and policy making.

“Residents will now be able to complete civil registration services from home without standing in long queues, facing delays, paperwork, or unnecessary visits,” he added.

It should be noted that all records will be available on a single digital platform linked to the provincial system. The CRMS mobile app will be expanded to a digital platform for vehicle registration and arms licenses.

Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Principal Secretary Agha Wasif, Health Secretary Rehan Baloch and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony.

Moreover, a 9-member delegation led by Nadra Director General (DG) Aamir Ali Khan also participated in the MoU signing ceremony with the Sindh government.
