In a major move to give relief, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is expected to announce a reduction in electricity tariffs.
According to details, electricity prices may see a decrease of 65 paisa per unit for one month under the monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism.
It should be noted that the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted an application in this regard, on which NEPRA will hold a hearing today.
If the application is accepted, the reduction will also apply to K-Electric (KE) consumers.
According to the application, hydropower generation accounted for 27.36% of the total electricity produced in October. Local coal contributed 12.76%, imported coal 4.71%, natural gas 9.16%, imported RLNG 19.72%, and nuclear power 22.13%.
Meanwhile, if you're tired of getting incorrect readings on your electricity bill and want to self-read the meter, then Gadinsider has this guide to help alleviate your tension.
K-Electric has its app, named KE Live, which provides you with multiple services, such as updates on electricity status, load shedding schedule, complaint option, and many more.
One of the most important features on the 'KE Live' app is self-meter reading, through which consumers can easily self-read the meter and send it to the electricity supply company.
