The Sindh government has announced a major reform in its recruitment process, aiming to make government jobs more fair and merit-driven.

Under the new policy, applicants from Grade 5 to Grade 15 will receive five extra marks for their academic achievements if they have scored at least 50% in their educational qualifications.

The policy, notified by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, applies across all provincial departments. Section Officer Faizan Qazi said the system is designed to create a uniform scoring method and eliminate inconsistencies seen in previous recruitment cycles.

Moreover, candidates holding an intermediate qualification will also be awarded five extra marks in their tests. S

Such candidates applying through the IBA Sukkur testing system will get the same benefit. According to officials, this step ensures transparency and rewards academic performance equally for all applicants.

The authorities mentioned that a large number of departments had asked for a well-defined and uniform marking criterion.

In this regard, the government intends to promote merit and academic commitment amongst the youth of Sindh while applying for jobs.

A government official, speaking at the announcement, said, “This policy strengthens merit and ensures that students’ hard work in academics is recognised during recruitment.

The government believes that recognising academic achievements in the recruitment process will not only make the recruitment process more transparent but also encourage young people to pursue higher education and strive for better results.
