Pakistan introduces 24/7 support centre for IT businesses, startups

The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) on Monday introduced a one-window support platform, named the 'MARKAZ Industry Facilitation Centre', which will assist IT companies, Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs), call centres, and freelancers. 

According to the authority, MARKAZ will ease processes such as business registration, obtaining regulatory clearances, and meeting compliance requirements. 

This initiative aims to simplify business operations and boost Pakistan's digital economy by providing round-the-clock support.

It gives guidance on documentation and procedures related to organisations, including the Securities And Exchange Commission Of Pakistan (SECP), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), Social Security, and provincial labour departments. 

It should be noted that companies will also get support while dealing with operational or policy-related challenges.

Officials noted that MARKAZ will directly coordinate with government departments to resolve issues that often slow down growth in the IT and IT-enabled services industry. This partnership is believed to ease delays and ensure smoother workflows for startups and established companies. 

How will MARKAZ operate?

With its 24/7 support, model, MARKAZ will give assistance for export revenue procedures, regulatory matters, and industry-specific challenges. 

The Ministry of IT & Telecom and the Pakistan Software Export Board termed MARKAZ as an important support project that will simplify and increase the growth of tech sector.
