NED university hosts CLIMATECH-2025 on technology-driven climate action

NED university incorporates sustainability and climate change topics into curriculum

The NED Engineering University of Karachi hosted the second conference on Technology Driven Climate Action-2025 (CLIMATECH -2025) in collaboration with Dawlance and REON Energy on January 16-17. 

Serving as the chief guest at the conference, Turkish Council General Cemal Sangu underscored the significance of reinforcing collaborative efforts to address the global climate crisis. 

NED University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Tufal highlighted the university's commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while focusing on areas such as clean energy, sustainable cities and climate action. 

Expressing gratitude, Dawlance Chief Marketing Officer Syed Hasan Jameel stated: “At Dawlance, we are proud to partner with NED University for CLIMATECH-2025, as we believe that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand."

"Through initiatives like this, we aim to drive meaningful change and contribute to the global effort in combating climate change,” he added.

The university incorporated sustainability and climate change topics into the curriculum, encouraging youth to stay focused towards creating a well-organised eco-friendly society to attain environmental sustainability. 

The university interacted with the local community to spread awareness regarding climate change, fostering a shared responsibility for a healthier ecosystem. 

Conference Chair Dr Muhammad Imran Aslam stated that CLIMATECH 2025 aims to provide a platform where industry experts, equity holders, researchers, and students can address the growing climate issues. 

Dr Irfan Ahmed, the Co-Chair of the conference, highlighted the significant risks posed by climate change to our ecosystems, economies, and societies.
