In an unfortunate occurrence in the realm of the streaming sphere, popular video streaming giant Netflix has been fined €4.75 million ($4.98 million) by the Dutch authorities on Wednesday for allegedly misusing users' personal data.

"Between 2018 and 2020, Netflix did not provide customers with enough information about what the company does with their personal data. And the information that Netflix did provide was unclear in some areas," noted the regulatory bodies of the Netherlands.

Since the aforementioned period, the streaming platform has neither updated its privacy statement nor informed its subscribers with information detailing how it uses their private data.
