
YouTube on Tuesday released several updates aimed at improving the platform and offering users a more interesting experience.
With the new overhaul, YouTube aims to enhance user interaction with videos and redesign the video player with new icons and updated controls. The company also introduced threaded replies for discussions in the comments section.
The Google-owned video-sharing platform has also added a unique "like" animation on specific content.
YouTube gets revamped design
In a blog post, Google revealed new features and visual advancements to make the platform more engaging and intuitive. The company said the new YouTube update will enhance viewing experience while “obscuring less content.”
The "Seek" feature is also updated, enabling users to double-tap to navigate through content. YouTube has updated its design to make saving videos to Watch Later or playlists more interactive and visually attractive.
The update includes an advancement to the comment section with the launch of a structured system for comment replies. This threading system is designed to provide a more focused reading experience for users within the replies panel.
