OnePlus 12R gets first software update in India with camera improvements

The OnePlus 12R, launched in India last month as an affordable variant of the OnePlus 12, has started receiving its first software update. Set to go on sale from February 6, the update focuses on camera enhancements, system stability, and performance upgrades. It also includes power consumption optimisations in specific scenarios. The update size is approximately 400MB.

According to Gadgets360, OnePlus has started the rollout of OxygenOS version 14.0.0.307 (EX01) for the OnePlus 12R units in India. This update includes improvements in system stability, performance, and network and Bluetooth connection compatibility.

The software update introduces rear camera improvements, particularly enhancing indoor photography on the OnePlus 12R. Additionally, power consumption optimisations aim to extend the device's battery life. While the initial release is for India, the global rollout is expected to extend to other markets soon.

The OnePlus 12R, priced at INR 39,999 for the base 8GB+128GB RAM and storage configuration, features a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO 4.0 AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,264x2,780 pixels. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, it houses a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. 

The phone boasts a 16-megapixel selfie camera, offers up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and is supported by a 5,000mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC wired charging capability.
