OnePlus is gearing up to update its Android-based operating system, OxygenOS, introducing a next-generation Oxygen OS 15.

The upcoming update  is expected to offer various iPhone-like features, including a customisable Control center, as per recent reports.

OxygenOS 15 features

Control Centre

According to SmartPrix, with the OxygenOS 15 update, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer might introduce a new separate Control Centre, similar to that present in iPhone.

This revamped Control Centre potentially includes a 2x2 media player, a 1x2 brightness slider, and a 1x2 volume panel. The Control Centre might also include a split screen for the notifications. Notably, a similar upgrade is rumored to be included in Android 16.

Additionally, the OxygenOS 15 would allow users customise the Control Centre, just like what Apple recently introduced with iOS 18.

Volume slider

Alongside the Control Centre, OnePlus might also get an iOS-like volume slider in its smartphones. The updated slider would turn into a narrow one after a user taps a volume button.

Live Photos

OxygenOS 15 is also tipped to get a Live Photos feature which would work similarly to iPhones. However, it is not confirmed whether OxygenOS will allow users to turn these photos into a single video like iPhones.

Dynamic island notifications

It appears that the new update will feature a dynamic island for notifications, similar to the iPhone 16's dynamic island, as well as reintroduce the Never Settle Easter egg feature. The feature appears when a user types 1+ into the calendar and hits the equal sign, causing the Never Settle to appear again.

OxygenOS release date

OnePlus users will not have to wait much longer to test these features as the company might release the first beta version of OxygenOS 15 by the end of this month or early October. However, reports suggest that flagships, including the OnePlus 12 and the One Plus 12R might get this update.
