Here is a step-by-step guide which you can use to pair up your Sony earbuds:

Pairing Sony earbuds

Before pairing your Sony earbuds with your device, make sure it is set in the pairing mode.

For older models or for second device pairing:

  • WF-1000XM5: Put earbuds in the charging case and then use the pairing button to press and hold for 5 seconds.
  • XM4: Press the touch sensor on both earbuds for 5 seconds.

How to connect Sony headsets and bands

Connecting your Sony headset or headband is pretty easy, and here's how to do it:

  1. Locate the power button press it and hold it down for 7 seconds until the indicator light starts blinking.
  2. You would receive a "Bluetooth pairing" message while you were wearing the headphones.

How to pair Android devices with Sony headsets

Put on headphones and place in pair mode and turn Bluetooth on:

  1. Open Settings > Connection settings/Connection preferences.
  2. Tap Bluetooth.
  3. Tap Pair new device or Available devices.
  4. Find your Sony headphones and tap on them.
  5. If prompted, enter passkey 0000.

How to pair iPhone or iPad with Sony headsets 

  1. Put on headphones, put in pair mode, and turn on Bluetooth.
  2. Open Settings > Bluetooth.
  3. Headphones must be in My Devices; tap as indicated.
  4. Enter passkey 0000 if asked for one.
