The train is expected to incorporate 28 digitally enabled coaches with enhanced seating, internet, as well as smart modification features to improve the journey.

An international standard dining car will serve meals with the aim of experiencing quality travel. The launch will take place in Lahore and is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

In addition, this new digital business train is key in terms of Pakistan Railways' major revitalisation agenda, which includes e-ticketing, better facilities at railway stations and better onboard facilities; this will hopefully encourage rail travel using Pakistan Railways.

In a separate announcement, the Railways Ministry reported earning over Rs3.95 billion in luggage and brake van services, based on a report from the last three years.

Major contributions to this income were also gained by outsourcing services to private contractors through open tenders, according to officials. He also said the transparent process was meant to help improve the quality of service and better accountability.
