The Sindh government has declared that the deadline for implementing vehicle number plates with Ajrak themes has been extended until August 14.
In order to help car owners who have been finding it difficult to adhere to the new rules, Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla officially announced the decision.
Chawla has underlined that “Ajrak represents Sindh’s cultural identity, and it will remain part of the new number plates.”
He noted that the introduction of number plates with Ajrak themes is a component of a larger effort to strengthen security through the Safe City project.
However, vehicle owners are still required to abide by all other traffic laws and guidelines, such as wearing helmets and having current identification.
As usual, penalties will be imposed for noncompliance with these regulations.
The government is still determined to carry out the project in spite of some objections to the new license plates' appearance and legality.
It is a sensible move to extend the deadline for Ajrak-themed license plates, giving car owners more time to adhere to the new rules.
An important step in enhancing the infrastructure and services of the province is the government's initiative to promote Sindh's cultural identity and improve security through the Safe City project.
