In what seems to be a step forward in improving digital services for overseas citizens, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has scheduled a meeting on May 2, 2025, at the Prime Minister’s Office to review updates for the PakTok app.

The app, developed by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (MOPHRD), aims to streamline access to essential government services for Pakistani expatriates.

The meeting will address proposed design changes to the app, along with technical progress shared by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BE\&OE), and NADRA.

Stakeholders are also expected to finalise improvements for Phase II of the Pak-Emigrant Management Framework (PEMF), which works alongside PakTok to enhance overseas service delivery.

The PakTok app serves as a central digital platform for the Pakistani diaspora. It offers services such as OPF membership registration, welfare support like recovering unpaid dues from foreign employers, assistance in repatriating deceased citizens, and scholarships for children in OPF schools.

One of the app’s most vital features is a 24/7 complaint management system, allowing overseas Pakistanis and their families to report and resolve issues efficiently.

The app also provides regular updates on government policies, OPF initiatives, and diaspora-focused events.
