Pixel 8 is substantially a great phone with compelling features but it lacks in few specs and that's why Pixel 9 requires a few significant upgrades including an impressive camera, stellar design and Tensor chip.

But at the same time, it carries a few problems as well, including unimpressive battery life, less storage, and issues related to device overheating and troubling fingerprint scanners.

More storage

Modem users have higher expectations from Androids, but unfortunately, Google has disappointed its users by offering only 8GB RAM in Pixel 8, because fewer storage devices now always struggle to keep up, so to avoid any issues it could have integrated at least 12-16GB RAM for enhanced performance.

Additionally, it comes with 128 and 256GB storage options that are insufficient for heavy users for various reasons.

Enhanced fingerprint scanner

Pixel 8 includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, which usually struggles with speed and infrequently works in a single attempt so users have to constantly change their PIN.

Google needs to revamp the complete screen technology with cutting-edge technology in the upcoming Pixel phones for better speed and accuracy. So users are expecting more storage in the Pixel 9 series.

Thermal management needs to be fixed

Google has integrated Tensor chips in the company which is certainly a great step towards excellence for the company.

However, it needs to fix the thermal management ability because Pixel phones start overheating within a short time after some usage.
