Punjab government launches Honhar Laptop Scholarship Programme for students

The Government of Punjab has launched the Honhar Laptop Scholarship Programme to empower students through technology and education.

Led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, this scholarship and laptop distribution initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to enhancing education and supporting students across the province.

The programme aims to distribute laptops and merit-based scholarships to eligible students in Punjab within the next 90 days.

Key highlights of Honhar Laptop Scholarship Programme:

A total of 50,000 laptops, including state-of-the-art Core i7 and 13th-generation models, will be distributed, with an initial rollout of 5,000 laptops within the first 30 days. The remaining laptops are scheduled to be delivered by February 20.

Scholarship categories:

The distribution includes:

  1. 20,000 laptops for university students
  2. 14,000 laptops for college students
  3. 2,000 laptops for medical and dental college students
  4. 4,000 laptops for students in the industrial and agricultural sectors
  5. Additionally, 32% of the laptops are reserved for students from Southern Punjab.

Special beneficiaries

The government has also allocated 2,000 laptops for minority students. Furthermore, top-performing matriculation and F.Sc students will receive laptops, along with a Guard of Honour.

How to apply for Honhar Laptop Scholarship Programme

  • Eligible students can apply through their educational institutions.

It is important to note that selection will be based on academic performance, with priority given to high-achieving students and those from minority groups.
