The Punjab government on Tuesday announced the launch of a new platform, the e-Auction app, for citizens to get vehicle numbers of their choice.

The e-Auction app — developed by the Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department in partnership with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) — allows you to register and secure your desired number by November 30.

The system enables the online auction of both motorcycle and car registration numbers. Once the auction is completed, details of the successful bidders will be made publicly available on the app.

The PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated that this online system has made the auction process completely digital, allowing citizens to participate easily and transparently from the comfort of their homes.

He added that the e-Auction app has simplified the entire procedure, making it easier and more accessible for citizens across Punjab.

"This system is helping eliminate the role of middlemen and agent mafias, building public trust through an efficient and corruption-free mechanism," added Yousaf.

It should be noted that attractive registration numbers are typically offered through a special auction, making them rare and expensive due to high demand.
