Citizens in Punjab can now download property registries online through the new Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) portal.
This move is part of the government's initiative to strengthen urban land records by introducing a unified land information system that will provide a more transparent, accessible and digital land record system.
Punjab's PULSE portal and how it works
The PULSE portal is built off of GIS-based parcel mapping, which connects accurate land ownership information to official mapping.
This accuracy has worked to minimise and help resolve land disputes and clarify land transactions.
As a part of these upgrades, over 151 million pages of recorded deeds were digitised, and more than 874,000 land parcels in 836 housing societies have been mapped.
Citizens will now access all the documentation they need with easy access in the PULSE portal.
All that needs to be done is to log on to the PULSE website, navigate to "RoD Archives/Records", and enter their CNIC, city, tehsil, the name of the buyer, and registry number.
Records of land registry records will be available to view and download in the "Record ki Tafseelat" section.
Officials state that this change will not only support urban development with organised and planned property documentation, but it will also reduce persistent corruption over land records and its stakeholders, improving the ease of doing business. Creating a reliable and consistent land governance system will help to attract local and foreign investments.
