In response to the ongoing heatwave across Pakistan, the Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that school timings in the province will be from 7:30am to 11:30am starting tomorrow.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Hayat confirmed the revised school timings for Punjab, adding that May 28 "will be a holiday."
The holiday announcement for May 28 conforms to the Sindh government's recent decision to observe a holiday the same day on account of Youm-e-Takbeer, the day when Pakistan succeeded in its nuclear weapon testing in 1998.
