
Samsung has finally released the August security update for its newest flagship gadgets—Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. The update fixes more than 50 security vulnerabilities, including a critical Android security flaw that could be exploited by attackers to elevate privileges on a targeted device.
The update, which even slightly started its rollout in Korea, fixed many exploits that would be ranked under moderate to high priority.
Among the critical ones is the vulnerability labelled as CVE-2024-36972, which attackers could use to bypass security controls and access sensitive information. This update would fix this and ensure that Samsung takes better care of devices belonging to its users.

Moreover, besides these security patches, there are enhancements in the palm detection feature while shooting images and some minor app updates and general fixes within the update.
The updates come with build versions F956NKSU1AXH7 for the Fold 6 and F741NKSU1AXH7 for the Flip 6.
Although the update is currently only available in Korea, it shall reach other markets in the coming days and weeks.
Samsung hasn't been lagging in keeping its devices updated with security patches, and with this latest patch, the company shows it cares about the security of its users.
