
In a bid to provide women with independent and efficient means of mobility, the Government of Sindh has launched the Pink EV Scooty Scheme, giving free electric scooters (e-scooters) to female students and working women across the province.
Headed by the Transport and Mass Transit Department and executed by the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA), the Pink Scooty Scheme is aimed at making women's daily travel safer and more convenient.
Who's eligible for Pink EV Scooty Scheme?
First and foremost, being a permanent resident of Sindh is a must for applicants to avail of the Pink EV Scooty Scheme.
Other requirement to qualify for the Pink EV Scooty Scheme is holding a valid motorbike or car licence, and having either been enrolled in an educational institution or employed.
Eligibility criteria of Pink EV Scooty Scheme
- Permanent residency in Sindh
- Student or working woman
- Valid car or motorcycle driving license
- Willingness to retain the scooty for at least seven years without resale or subletting
- Required to pass a road safety skill test if shortlisted
It's worth noting that beneficiaries will be bound not to sell or lease the scooty for at least seven years.
The scheme covers free training, registration, helmet provision, and access to EV charging stations. Applications will be submitted online via SMTA's official website.
