ACER Aspire 3D 15 Spatial Labs Edition
A standout among the impressive notebooks is the Acer Aspire 3D 15 Spatial Labs Edition, featuring an innovative lenticular 3D display combined with Acer's Spatial Labs software. This setup allows users to experience 3D effects without the need for special glasses. While the idea of 3D laptop screens is not groundbreaking, Acer has introduced several models with this capability in the past few years.
Being marketed toward content creators and educators who run 3D applications and don’t want to wear bulky VR headsets to see the outcomes, the Aspire 3D 15 will be available for around $1,400.
Spectre X360 2-in-1
HP unveiled an updated iteration of its Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptops, featuring a 14-inch variant equipped with the latest Intel processors, enhanced displays, and an upgraded webcam. The Spectre x360 14 now boasts a 2.8K OLED screen with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz, and it has received IMAX certification.
Powered by a Core Ultra 7 155 Processor with ARC graphics, the 14-inch model delivers high performance, while the 16-inch version can be configured with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU for added graphical capabilities. Additionally, the webcam has been enhanced to a 9MP camera with improved low-light adjustment.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12
Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12, a revamped version of its flagship 14-inch notebook. This redesign features reduced bezels, an optional 8MP camera, and improved thermals, promising enhanced battery life. The laptop brings subtle changes, including the addition of tactile marks on the volume, insert, and enter keys.
It also incorporates a larger 120 mm haptic touchpad with a quick menu accessible directly from the touchpad. Despite these updates, the starting weight remains at 2.4 pounds. The broader release, which includes enterprise versions with vPro support, is anticipated in March.
Thinkbook Plus Gen 5
As is customary, Lenovo showcased a multitude of distinctive designs at CES 2024, some featuring color e-ink covers and dual displays. Among them, the most efficient and visually appealing was the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5.
This 14-inch laptop boasts an OLED display that can detach from the keyboard, transforming into an Android tablet. Notably, this detachment is possible even while using the rest of the laptop with an external display, effectively functioning as a Windows machine.
LG Gram Pro 2-in-1
The LG Gram Pro 2-in-1, with a 16-inch display, weighs in at 1,399 grams, slightly over 3 pounds, and has a thickness of just 12.4 millimeters. Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, it offers a comprehensive range of ports and provides display options with resolutions of 2560-by-1600 IPS or 2880-by-1800 OLED.
While it incorporates last year's Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 mobile GPUs, which may be a drawback for those focused on graphics, this is commendable given its compact size and lightweight design.
